Participation in Singapore Airshow 2020

On February 11, the biggest in Southeast Asia and the third-largest in the world aerospace event called Singapore Airshow 2020 opened in Singapore. The airshow is organized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) along with the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). The aerospace show is held once every two years and gathers the leaders of the civil and military aviation industries together.

In 2018, about 54 thousand visitors from 147 countries, 1,062 companies from 50 countries, as well as 287 high officials from 92 countries and regions took part in the Singapore Airshow. The coronovirus outbreak has made adjustments to this year’s aerospace show. A range of European and American companies refused to participate in the exhibition, the number of visitors decreased slightly, including due to the measures of enhanced epidemiological protection undertaken by the Singapore authorities and the organizers of the event. Moreover, the meeting of the leaders of the largest aircraft manufacturing corporations has been cancelled.

At the same time, the main activities planned by the organizers and participants of the airshow are now under way as usual. This applies to the international exhibition of military and civil aviation products, devices and systems, engines, spare parts and components, repair equipment and tools, technologies and engineering solutions, etc.

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation are participating in the work of the Singapore Airshow. The State Corporation Rostec is represented with a separate booth. Representatives of Rostec itself, as well as its holding companies and organizations, such as Russian Helicopters, United Aircraft Corporation, Rosoboronexport (including regional representatives), their partners and related enterprises are taking part in the event.

Compensating the impossibility to represent the wide Russian delegation, an active work at the aerospace show is being conducted by representatives of the Russia-Singapore Business Council and the Center for Overseas Promotion of Russian High-Tech Companies and the Presentation of Investment Projects created in Singapore on its initiative with the support of the State Corporation Rostec.

On the opening day, a series of negotiations was organized with prospective buyers of Rostec companies’ products. The representatives of potential partners of the Corporation’s enterprises, as well as the heads of Singapore agencies visited the booth.

The Corporation considers the Singapore Airshow as an important tool for promoting its products and technologies to the market of the Asia-Pacific countries. Negotiations will be held with potential buyers of Russian aircraft, leasing companies and suppliers of components.

The work of the Singapore Airshow and the Russian delegation will last till February 14.
