Intercountry Cooperation at the Level of Business Councils

One of the new trends in the consolidation of Russian business with foreign companies on the global stage is interaction through business councils. These are public organizations, whose members are actively involved in the search for new partnerships with the purpose of establishing long-term cooperation. Interaction at the level of business councils opens up new horizons for solving such tasks.

On February 12, at the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF in Moscow, the prospects for long-term mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed during a meeting of representatives of Business Councils for cooperation with Singapore and cooperation with Cyprus, headed by their leaders – Nikolay Volobuev and Mikhail Kuzovlev.
DSC_2176The potential of a new promising vector of business partnerships – Cyprus-Russia-Singapore was demonstrated on the example of the implementation of an international project to build a high-tech sports and fitness complex for training and rehabilitation of athletes; the project is planned to be implemented by three parties. The construction site is in Cyprus, the technologies will be provided by Russian companies (Rostec State Corporation and YSAR+ JSC), and Singapore companies will form the investment package.

Simultaneously, our software is being introduced to a number of medical institutions in Cyprus; moreover, we are ready to promote Russian technologies in the framework of promising projects and to develop existing relationships with business structures of the Republic of Cyprus”, said the Director of YSAR+ JSC, a member of the Russia-Cyprus Business Council, and Deputy Chairman of the Council Sergey Robsky.

During the meeting, it was agreed to present this project at the international economic forum “V Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue”.

Participation in Singapore Airshow 2020

On February 11, the biggest in Southeast Asia and the third-largest in the world aerospace event called Singapore Airshow 2020 opened in Singapore. The airshow is organized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) along with the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). The aerospace show is held once every two years and gathers the leaders of the civil and military aviation industries together.

In 2018, about 54 thousand visitors from 147 countries, 1,062 companies from 50 countries, as well as 287 high officials from 92 countries and regions took part in the Singapore Airshow. The coronovirus outbreak has made adjustments to this year’s aerospace show. A range of European and American companies refused to participate in the exhibition, the number of visitors decreased slightly, including due to the measures of enhanced epidemiological protection undertaken by the Singapore authorities and the organizers of the event. Moreover, the meeting of the leaders of the largest aircraft manufacturing corporations has been cancelled.

At the same time, the main activities planned by the organizers and participants of the airshow are now under way as usual. This applies to the international exhibition of military and civil aviation products, devices and systems, engines, spare parts and components, repair equipment and tools, technologies and engineering solutions, etc.

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation are participating in the work of the Singapore Airshow. The State Corporation Rostec is represented with a separate booth. Representatives of Rostec itself, as well as its holding companies and organizations, such as Russian Helicopters, United Aircraft Corporation, Rosoboronexport (including regional representatives), their partners and related enterprises are taking part in the event.

On the opening day, a series of negotiations was organized with prospective buyers of Rostec companies’ products. The representatives of potential partners of the Corporation’s enterprises, as well as the heads of Singapore agencies visited the booth.

The work of the Singapore Airshow and the Russian delegation will last till February 14.
