Special session by Moscow Government

On May 26, a special session of the Moscow Government was held in Singapore, organized by Moscow Government and the Russian-Singapore Business Council. It was devoted to discussing the opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between Moscow and Singapore. About 40 executives and representatives of Singapore investment companies, financial intermediaries and brokers, state structures and technology companies took part in the session.

The event was moderated by recently appointed regional director of the Russian-Singapore Business Council, Mr. Eg Kah Yee, who heads a large pool of investment companies, e.g. in the field of medical technology and public health.

Anatoly Valetov, Head of the Russian delegation, Deputy Head of the Department for foreign economic and international relations of Moscow, made the presentation about the investment potential of Moscow. He presented a wide range of financial and technological investment opportunities for entering Moscow’s infrastructure projects.
Elena Stepanova, Head of the Department for Investments and International Relations, presented key projects of Mosinzhproekt. Particular attention was paid to the construction of transport interchange hubs, as well as large-scale expansion and renovation of the Moscow Metro, to which it is planned to attract foreign partners.

Yekaterina Terenova, general manager of Changi Airports International Investment Company for Russia and CIS countries, shared her positive experience about working in Russia. She spoke about the peculiarities of the work for Singaporean companies in Russia, highly appreciating the investment potential of Moscow and Russia as a whole.

Sergey Pronin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Singapore Business Council, presented two key projects of the managing company of the Business Council. First is the electronic service platform RSTrade, designed to intensify and automate export-import operations between the EEU and ASEAN countries. The second one is the opening the Center for foreign promotion of Russian high-tech companies in Singapore, in order to expand their presence in the countries of South and South-East Asia. In addition, Kirill Solntsev, Head of International Business and Marketing Division, made a presentation of the newest development project of the Aviation Service Center by holding “Technodinamika”.
At the close, there was the presentation of the Singaporean technology that improving efficiency of facility management, which is proposed to be diffused in Moscow.
The business part ended with a Q&A session and networking during the drink-reception on behalf of the Moscow Government.

We hope that the session will become an important stage in the development of relations between megacities and will contribute to the expansion of trade and economic ties between Russia’s regions and the Republic of Singapore.
